Zentrum für molekulare Spektroskopie und Simulation solvensgesteuerter Prozesse - Center for Solvation Science
International working groups interdisciplinarily explore the new research field Solvation Science in ZEMOS at Ruhr-Universität Bochum. We use the various laboratories and simulation clusters equipped with the most modern techniques, as well as the advantages of the open and communicative architecture of the 3.891 square-meter-building.
Many researchers in ZEMOS are part of RESOLV: The Cluster of Excellence RESOLV (Ruhr Explores Solvation: EXC 2033) is an interdisciplinary research project co-hosted by the Ruhr University Bochum and the TU Dortmund University. About 200 scientists cooperate to clarify how the solvent is involved in the control, mediation and regulation of chemical reactions. Solvation Science is essential to advance technologies that could reuse CO2 for chemicals production, increase the efficiency of energy conversion and storage and develop smart sensors. RESOLV is funded by the German Federal Government and the state of North Rhine-Westphalia under the umbrella of the German Excellence Strategy with 42 Mio. EUR over the period 2019-2025.
